Thanks to everyone who came out to Chicago Zine Fest this year to support us! You’re beautiful and amazing. Here are some highlights, courtesy of others (mostly John and Glitter Guts).
Thanks again for a wonderful day! I will be seeing everyone soon.
OH HEY THERE.
So, I realize you probably thought I was dead. That’s reasonable. However, I come from faraway lands bearing some fabulous new updates for you!
FIRST AND FOREMOST, Chicago Zine Fest 2014 is upon us! This Saturday yours truly and Mr. John Bailey will be holding down the fort at Columbia College downtown. We’re representing American Dirtbag Comics this year, come see us! We have all kinds of goodies for you guys – books by John, Scott Wygmans, and myself, trinkets and postcards, and our smiling faces.
This Saturday, March 15, 11-6.
1104 S. Wabash
Chicago, IL 60605
(If you can’t make it out, I have added my new patches and buttons to my Big Cartel page, should that interest you. Thanks to Busy Beaver and Spudnik Press for the printing help.)
SECOND ORDER OF BUSINESS, the aforementioned John Bailey and I are having a month-long exposition at Ground Control in May. I will alert you when I know when the opening is.
That is all! Thanks for being patient with my dead beat ass. Still no scanner in the Angthius studio. Creep my Instagram for more regular peeks at my drawrings. (Cheeky monkeys.)
I feel like since I haven’t updated in, well, FOREVER, that I should make a statement about what’s up:
I don’t have a scanner cuz I’m a bum!
I just moved to Chicago and got a studio, so here are some Instagram pictures from this past week. Got a grinder to start doing stained glass windows, realized that my soldering iron is bullshit and so is my knowledge of soldering. Still working on the coffee table nudez book! Slowly but surely. I spilled coffee on some unscanned pieces last week :'(
Anyway, yep, I’m not dead yet, and sooner rather than later I will have a real update for everyone.
Hello again, dear ones!
The amazing Steve Wygmans very generously gave his time to take these photos of the show, among other things, for which we’re really grateful. He even edited these for us! Without his help we wouldn’t have any documentation of the night, so thank you – also, thanks again x 1,000 to the Con Artist Crew (Reuben and Magdelene) for hosting us and providing a fantastic evening; without their help, we wouldn’t have even HAD a show! Check out the slideshow of the night! <3
Thank you again to everyone who came out and said goodbye to us, we really can’t even tell you how much it means to us to have your support. We have high hopes about furthering our creative lives in Chicago, and we hope to see you at future events – it was a fun party and we hope to have many, many more! Love you all.
Oh, side note, if you haven’t already, please go and vote for my North Coast poster – I think the contest goes until July 30? Thank you!!
So, I made this poster for a contest – supposedly if I win I get prizes, but I am mostly concerned with the idea of getting to do the poster for a Chicago festival this summer – as I’m moving there and all, it might be nice. Anyway, if you have a free minute and think my drawing is grud, please vote for it! You can do that here :) OR feel free to just go to http://www.northcoastfestival.com and do it the hard way.
hurr’s my posturr
Poster for North Coast
So yeah! Vote for me if you have a minute! I greatly appreciate any efforts made.
Chicago! I’ll be seeing you in August <3 . Everyone else, lovelovelove ’til I see you next! I’ll be posting photos (taken by the amazing and talented Steve Wygmans, Scott’s brother) from our show DeathMagic soon. Huzzah!
So, as you may or may not know, Scott and I have been planning our move to Chicago for a while now. If you’re in the Grand Rapids area on June 29, 2013, we would love to see you at our farewell show/party, Death Magic, at the Con Artist Crew spot – 1111 Godfrey. We are putting up a ton of work, old and new, and all proceeds from sales go towards helping to get our butts outta GR safe n’ sound, and to keeping CAC wheelin’ and dealin’. There will also be an opportunity to pick up our comics at the American Dirtbag Comics table. So, come drink and be merry, and spend the night with your two favourite garbage people. Hope to see you there!
